    1. Hey Jessica,

Shambala Kids have one that is a great introduction for kids called ABC Meditations. It’s part of their “Inner Calm” series. There are two – one’s 6 minutes and the other one is 10 minutes. It’s short and sweet and you just have to guide your child to lie down quietly, preferably with eyes closed, and listen to the recording.

Start by just trying to get your LO to lie down quietly. It’s okay if they are a bit restless and wriggly. As long as they stay put. If you do both together, the older one can serve as an “example” for the younger one to follow.

Other times I play it while they are just going to bed. I turn out the lights and sometimes lie down with them.

  1. Indeed, the preparatory exercises are the most important before any right brain activities. 3 things: breathing, meditation and imaging. Playing alpha music tracks help a lot. When the kids get hyper, I also get them to do breathing exercises and listen to alpha music to calm down. Works very well.
