Writing Goals on Helium
Welcome to A Writer's Papyrus. This blog is a work in progress. If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed to be updated whenever a new post has been added. Feel free to drop me a line and tell me what you would like to read more about. Thanks for visiting!
I thought I should make a list of my writing goals on Helium so I have a yardstick to measure my progress with. After all, you have to be able to see a target in order to hit it otherwise you would just be shooting blindly.
I can’t remember where I heard it or read it, but goal setting was likened to a ship out at sea. When you know the destination that you are aiming for, you can tell when you are off course. That allows you to adjust your direction so that you can correct your course and still reach your destination.
Of course, goals don’t have to be set in stone. They can be changed along the way as they become obsolete or as priorities change. Nevertheless, they are important to have or you won’t know where you’ve been or what you have really achieved.
So these are my writing goals at Helium:
1. Win a second Helium Competition.
2. Write 100 articles on Helium.
3. Earn another writing star.
4. Win a Marketplace Entry.
5. Win a Journalism Award.
