Archive for the LOA Tools Category

I got this list from Michael Losier’s e-newsletter that I am subscribed to since buying his book.  I figured now is a good time to get it done since 2007 is drawing to a close.  So after nearly two months of applying the Law of Attraction in my life, this is what I have achieved:

Check off the items you can celebrate and say YES to.

1. I understand and accept that Law of Attraction is a process which consists of gradually reducing the negative vibrational patterns I have towards some areas in my life and replacing them with positive thoughts. Through the intentional and deliberate use of the tools of Law of Attraction, I see evidence that my allowing is gradually increasing.

Yes - it’s definitely happening in some aspects of my life.

2. Over time I am seeing some behavioral changes in myself. Even though I constantly hear others using don’t, not and no, I have eventually stopped using these words out loud. Each time I catch myself even thinking these words, I automatically ask myself the question, “So, what DO I want?” I know that when I change my words, my vibration changes, and I can only hold one vibration at a time.

Er… sometimes.

3. I’ve noticed over time that I am observing contrast (anything that doesn’t feel good to me), more and more briefly.

Yes, definitely!

4. I’ve noticed that I have fewer and fewer experiences of negative people and events in my life.

Yeah, I’d say so.

5. It has become second nature for me to be aware of many, many more things that I can appreciate and express gratitude for.

Yes, I am more appreciative for the good things in my life.

6. I find myself automatically assigning all my new desires to Law of Attraction. When I want something new in my life I say, “I’m using Law of Attraction to get that!”

Not all, but some.

7. I understand the expression ‘I get what I vibrate’ and I hold myself fully accountable for everything that shows up in my life, both positive and negative!

Yes I am.

I guess I’m not doing too badly then…

There are so many things that I want to focus on that sometimes I find some things are falling off the plate and getting zero attention while I am occupied with other things.  Like, for instance, the hubby reminded me today that a certain something still hasn’t happened and I’ve realised that I haven’t been thinking about it because I’ve been so busy concentrating on getting Gavin eating properly and getting out of his fussy phase that I haven’t really thought of much else.

So this is what I’ve come up with to make sure that everything we desire gets the appropriate attention due.  I figured that the only way to keep everything top of mind is to keep a list of stuff that I want.  Each day I will add to it if new desires come up and delete from it the stuff I’ve already received.  I figure this way, I’ll be thinking about everything at least once a day.  Let’s see how this goes…

  1. Use the phrase “Lots can happen…”
  2. Ask for information
  3. Create a void or vaccuum
  4. Let the LOA figure out the “how”

“Lots can happen…”

Sometimes the enormity of what we are asking for makes us doubt whether we can really attract it.  Simply using the phrase “Lots can happen…” helps to make it seem more possible.  For instance, if we wanted to increase sales of a business by 50%, it helps to remind ourselves that lots can happen in a year.

“Ask for information”

Another method of using LOA is to ask for information.  Michael Losier stated in his book that this is because most people are less resistant to asking and accepting information.  Here’s an example: if we wanted to start a successful business, we can start by asking for information to come to us that would help us figure out how to start this business.  And since we’re less resistant to receiving such information, the LOA is more likely to work for us.

“Create a void or vaccuum”

Creating a void or vaccuum helps make space for the things we ask for.  Michael gives the following example: if you’re looking for more clients for your business, you can start by creating appointment blocks for the new clients you expect to get.  And if an existing appointment cancels, focus on the positive aspect of this - now you have space for a new client, rather than the thought that another client has cancelled.  By focussing on having time for new clients, you’re acknowledging the abundance in life.  If you were to focus on the fact that yet another client has cancelled, you’re focussing on lack.

“Let the LOA figure it out the ‘how’”

Finally, let the LOA figure out the “how”.  Sometimes the very thing that keeps us from getting what we want is our inability to see how it can happen for us.  That creates doubt, which then repels the very thing that we desire.  Don’t worry if you can’t figure it out.  Simply by acknowledging what you want and creating a positive vibration to attract it, the “how” will present itself to you.

…to help create that positive vibration.

As Michael Losier writes in his book, Law of Attraction: The Science of Attracting More of What You Want and Less of What You Don’t, sometimes it’s hard to believe that you will get what you desire.  In a self-perpetuating cycle, when you doubt, it doesn’t happen and then you convince yourself that the Law of Attraction doesn’t work.  To help create a more positive and believable feeling about the things you desire, start with sentences that begin with:

  1. I’m in the process of…
  2. I’ve decided…

For instance, if you’re looking for your life partner, you could say, “I’m in the process of finding my ideal partner.”  Or if you’re looking for your ideal job, you could say, “I’m in the process of finding my ideal career.”  Likewise, you could say, “I’ve decided to start my own business.”  Because both of these phrases are true phrases, you won’t feel like you’re lying to yourself, thus creating the negative vibrations that will keep you from getting what you really desire.

The words, “I’ve decided…” can create a very strong positive vibration.  Think of a time when you felt you finally had it.  Did you say something along the lines of, “I’ve had it!  I’ve decided…”  Once you make a decision to do something, you often feel better about things.  That positive burst of emotion helps to generate positive vibrations that draw the things you desire to you.

The Allowing Statement.

The third part of mastering the Secret is all about allowing.  One of the reasons why many people aren’t able to make the Secret work for them despite asking for what they want and being able to visualise it is that their doubt prevents it from coming true.  The allowing statement helps us remove our doubts so that the Law of Attraction can work.

Allowing statements helps us see possibility and clear doubts.  They consist of statements that involve references to other people who have achieve and received all the things that we desire.  For instance, an allowing statement for someone who is seeking their perfect mate might be: “Thousands of people are meeting their ideal mate today.”  It shows that what we are asking for is within the realm of possible.

By removing doubt, allowing statements clear the way for the Law of Attraction to bring us what we ask for.

When it comes to using the Law of Attraction, it is one thing to know what  you want, but another thing completely when you want to get what you want.  If you simply create a list of the things you want and shelve it, you’re never going to get them because you’re not devoting enough time and energy thinking about it.  To make it happen, you need to increase the vibration energy devoted to those things.

Michael Losier recommends doing this by creating a desire statement that you can look at and think about on a daily basis.  The important thing about the desire statement is that you mustn’t write anything that you don’t feel is true.  For instance, you can’t write down: “I’m rich” when at the back of your mind, your house mortgage and car loans are weighing heavily on your mind.  Because you know it’s not true, you won’t be sending off the positive vibes you need to make it come true.  Therefore you need to write true statements that help you focus on what you want and still make you feel good.  So instead of writing: “I’m rich”, you could write: “I love the idea of being rich”.

In a nutshell, step 2 of the Law of Attraction involves writing a desire statement to increase your positive vibration.

After reading more about The Secret from Michael Losier’s book “Law of Attraction”, I’ve decided to add the exercises he outlines in his book to the current practices I’ve already implemented.  According to Losier, the first step to mastering the Law of Attraction is to create clarity through contrast.

The reason why we find ourselves getting all the things we don’t want in life is because we’re often focussed on those very things we don’t want.  Most people can tell you what they don’t want and what they don’t like, but often find themselves at a loss to express what they really want.  Because they are so focussed on the things they don’t want, they are giving these thoughts energy and the Law of Attraction states that whatever you think about you get.  The Law of Attraction doesn’t recognise that we don’t want these things, it just recognises that we’re thinking about these things a lot and so it gives it to us.

So to help us identify what we really do want, we have to make a list of all the things we don’t want - this is the list of things we need to find contrast to.  For instance, when we say, “I have not enough money,” we need to rephrase it as, “having an abundance of money”.  Michael suggests that we do this for all the things we want in our life.  For instance, what do we want in our ideal partner, what do we want in our ideal career, what is our ideal financial situation, etc.

So here are the things that I need to create contrast through clarity for:

  • having my ideal financial situation
  • being my ideal parent
  • achieving my ideal personal success story

When I wrote up my lists, I found that I was actually stuck when trying to write about the things I don’t want.  Does that mean I’m already one step ahead of where most people are?  I find myself thinking of things I want in a postive light so perhaps I don’t need to create a contrast list, but just my clarity list?
