Welcome to my blog. These are the memoirs of an undomestic goddess who went from a high flying corporate career to stay-at-home-Mum. Join me as I learn about Chinese culture, how to cook and decorate a home. If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Some time back, I was at Jusco Supermarket in the Alpha Angle.  Being pregnant, I felt myself justified to use the “pregnant/disabled/elderly/reusable bag” lane.  To my surprise, the lane was incredibly long.  When I looked ahead at the people in front of me, I became indignant.  Not only were they NOT pregnant or disabled or elderly, they didn’t even have reusable bags.

Having to wait in line on my feet while being as large as a house was did not go down well.  When I arrived at the cashier, I demanded to know why they served all those people ahead of me when they didn’t qualify to use the line.  I can understand if they allow people to use the line if there are no other people around who qualified, but I was there and I was very obviously pregnant, yet no one told me to go to the front of the line.  So I told the cashier that if they weren’t going to abide by their policies, they shouldn’t even bother having such lines.

Recently, I was at Jusco Supermarket again and guess what?  They removed the sign that designated that cashier as the “pregnant/disabled/elderly/reusable bag” lane.  It figures…
