Welcome to my blog. These are the memoirs of an undomestic goddess who went from a high flying corporate career to stay-at-home-Mum. Join me as I learn about Chinese culture, how to cook and decorate a home. If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Day 1:

The first morning I tested out my new Vita-Mix Multi-functional Blender, I made:

  • an orange, banana and carrot smoothie
  • a Milo frappe (well, it was supposed to be Milo ice cream but I read the ingredients wrong so I ended up making it a frappe instead)
  • vegetable soup (my own recipe)

This is what I learned:

  • frozen drinks don’t taste as sweet as liquid drinks even if they contain the same amount of sugar because the Milo frappe I made tasted okay when frozen but much too sweet after it melted
  • sometimes it pays to stick to the recipe because my vegetable soup didn’t taste quite as good – I was trying to use up some old veggies so probably got a little over zealous

Day 2:

I made:

  • a banana chocolate smoothie for the hubby which he enjoyed
  • orange, apple and grape smoothie for myself
  • banana ice cream which got the thumbs up from the hubby

What I learned:

  • if you’re going to freeze your bananas, it is a good idea to remove the skin before chucking them in the freezer (yeah, I know, it’s an obvious one but somehow I missed it)
