As a stay-home Mum to a fairly demanding baby, nighttime is usually my solace for “me” time. That is why I normally stay up long after Gavin has gone to bed to do personal things like writing this blog post, catching up on emails and whatnot. Lately, due to the “wonder week” no doubt, Gavin has been become a very restless sleeper at night - last night he even woke up twice to poop! When he isn’t waking up to play or practice new tricks, he’s looking for me and only wants to sleep when Mummy is around. I guess it goes without saying that I haven’t really had much time to myself after settling him down to sleep.
I know it is normal for babies to go through phases like these and if you follow the theory of the wonder weeks, there is a season for phases like these and they will pass. I know that it is only a matter of time because Gavin settles down again and starts sleeping restfully through the night.
