This blog began as a means to keep my friends up to date on the developments of my wedding planning and to share with those who were not able to attend, the events of the wedding day.

Although I am Chinese, I was born in a rather “a-traditional” family that migrated to Australia when I was just the tender age of 8. During the wedding planning, I found myself immersed in a culture that felt as foreign as if I had been from another race.

Despite being a sceptic towards non-scientifically proven beliefs and philosophies, I still maintain a curious interest in exotic cultures and rituals. Being a part of my new family has exposed me to some very interesting customs as old as time itself. Although I may be rather cynical and occasionally disparaging of the things I observe, I find myself conflictingly inquisitive to know more.

Fortunately for me and unfortunately for the content of this blog, my married life is nothing like the tales in “Desperate Housewives”. So besides being a chronicle of my wedding and the honeymoon, I have also included posts about relationships, traditions, superstitions, beliefs, family, holidays and other miscellaneous but related subjects.

What you will read about in this blog:

  • The wedding planning and events leading up to the wedding day, the big day, the honeymoon, and life after
  • Superstitions, beliefs and practices of a traditional Chinese family
  • On being married, being COO of the household, sharing a life and living together
  • Related subjects, such as home decor, cooking, anniversaries, relationships, human psychology, personal growth and development, and family
