Yes, my brother’s finally getting married. My grandmother will be ecstatic. I still remember the day when I told my grandmother I was getting married. Over the entire Chinese New Year period, my brother was nagged non-stop about why he wasn’t married yet. Given that my brother is the older of the two of us, it was only normal to expect that he would be the first in line to walk down the aisle.

My grandmother is a very traditional woman when it comes to carrying on the family line. She’s always preferred boys over girls because the boys will carry on the family name. Since my brother is the last of the Lees, it’s been her dearest wish to see him get married and, hopefully, bear a son. So now that he’s getting married, that’s one hurdle completed. It’s just a matter of time now before she starts nagging him about producing some grandchildren…
