8 January 2007. The first year of marriage has passed fairly quickly without too much drama. The hubby and I have made it to our first year anniversary with a little bundle of joy to arrive fairly soon.

A wedding has many significant events:
  • The registration - signing of the documents to pronounce us legally married
  • The Chinese tea ceremony - to announce to our relatives that we are married
  • The blessing service (or exchange of vows) - to announce before God that we are married

Any one of these could have marked the day of marriage for us and I often wonder for people who have these events on different days - which day do they consider their official wedding day?
