I always that this is the sort of thing that only ever happens movies. Well, it happened to me about a week before my wedding day.

So what happened? I had sinusitis and the doctor prescribed me with a cortico-steroid nasal spray which I used diligently until I developed a rash around my nose. Besides having my nose was itch like mad, the rash had spread to my upper lip and the whole area around my nose.

My wedding was a week away and I was about to play the part of Rudolf the Red-nosed Reindeer. Take a look at the photos taken during my Hen’s Day which was just four days before the wedding was about to take place.

In my desperation, I visited the GP and demanded for anything that would make it disappear. He prescribed me a steroid cream for topical application and advised me to use only the soap by “Simple”. No moisturisers, facial tonics, make-up or any of that nonsense and I would be fine for the wedding day.

The redness had disappeared by the eve of my wedding, but my face still felt a little sensitive. Since I would be wearing a healthy dose of make-up during the wedding day, I prayed and prayed that I wouldn’t experience a break-out during the wedding day itself.

Ahhh, the wonders of steroid creams…
