They did a fantastic job with the photos and videography. I loved what they did with the video!
Gentlemen, if you are reading this, do yourself a favour and hook this team up for the sake of your blissful matrimony. If you forget the videographer, your wife will remind you of that fact for the rest of your wedded life. And don’t worry about any mistakes, they are the masters of editing.
My only gripe is with the photographer who was supposed to be at the bride’s house in the morning to take photos of the ladies getting ready. Unfortunately, he got lost on the way and by the time he arrived, we were pretty much done. He did make up for it by being a very faithful shadow for the rest of the day and also taking some pretty unique shots from various angles. He was also one of the few who remembered to take a photo of the back of my dress - which was my treasured feature of the day.
Everything ran smoothy for the photography on the groom’s side. I’d like to think that the mix up was because I didn’t have a hand in the organisation, but let’s be fair to the groom who already had a lot on his plate leading up to the wedding day.

Truly a wedding professional if there ever was one. Having been in the wedding industry for some thirty plus years, he can get you almost anything you want. If you want someone to take care of things and don’t want to have to scramble around looking for things, Stephen Foong is your man. Well versed in all wedding cultures, he can tell you the dos and don’ts for almost anything - a pretty handy convenience if you are ignorant of the culture as I was. Beware, however, his prices do reflect the conveniences of having him.
My biggest gripe about using him was that by the time we took him on, he was already tied down to quite a number of weddings for that date. I felt that his resources were spread far too thin, for as the date approached, he was harder and harder to reach. His quality of service also reflected the fact that he was overloaded with projects.
If you have the time to plan your own wedding, nothing beats the personal touch - and that includes pricing. No matter what a wedding planner can promise you, their prices are unlikely to be better than a “walk-in” price quote. With a little haggling on your part, and I’m sure you’ll beat any price they can offer you.
Music and Four Piece Band:
I lost the card with his full details, but here are his contacts:

Comments:
He can arrange anything from the sound system, to the music, to the band. I understand that he is also a performer, as I witnessed during a practice session for my sister-in-law’s solo when he played the piano accompaniment.
Manicure and Pedicure:
JJ Nail Studio
66, 1st Floor, Jalan Telawi, Bangsar Baru, 59100 Kuala Lumpur.
Tel: 03 - 2287 6298
They have a number of outlets. I went to the one in Bangsar for the pre-wedding photo. I posted a picture of the result at: http://just-thinking-out-loud.blogspot.com/2005/11/new-look.html
For the wedding day, I ended up at the branch at Midvalley Mega Mall because they messed up my appointment. They did a good job with my nails, but I think their service leaves a lot to be desired. (see photos of the process) I also had a pedicure done ala French style.
My sister in-law did my nails for Batu Caves.
Highlights and styled-cut:
Phoenix Beauty Saloon
8a, Lorong Kolam Air Lama Satu, Ampang Jaya, 68000 Selangor.
Tel: 03 - 4564991 / 4566443
This was for the pre-wedding photography. Photo of the end result can be seen at the above link, although I don’t think I did them much justice with the photo I took.
For the wedding day, I went for more highlights at a hair salon in Taman Megah. I forgot to take a card, unfortunately. This is my aunt’s regular hair stylist. His name is Frankie and his shop is located in Taman Megah in the row of shop opposite Fatty Crab. His shop faces the LDP and is on the second storey.
Frankie’s prices are pretty reasonable. He charged me RM109 for a styled cut and full highlights. I like his cutting style. Unfortunately, I didn’t take photos of the results.
Bridal gowns:
Venice Bridal Gallery
No. 60 & 60-2, Wisma PK-4, Jalan Loke Yew, 55200 Kuala Lumpur.
Tel: 03-9223 6288
I rented the white bridal gown and the green evening gown seen in my pre-wedding photos.
Mr Yap’s Bridal Gallery is a relatively new player at the time I went to scope it out. He was most amicable and very helpful in helping me choose a gown. He provides excellent services and the prices are quite reasonable for the quality of gowns he provides, except that their range of accessories are somewhat limited.
They also provide wedding photography. I didn’t really look into these services so I can’t comment too much.

What can I say? Fantastic work! This team has a great eye for angles. Their creativity could turn pinocchio into a real boy. Definitely worth it if you want something really special and don’t mind the price.
Hair and make-up for the pre-wedding photos and actual wedding day were done by:
Jennifer (Make-up); Cindy (Hair)
Tel: 012-6066131
Comments:
Jennifer has terrific experience in creating a look that appears naturally enhancing. You won’t believe it’s you and yet, it really is you! She uses a special vial that helps the make-up to stay on despite the rigours of the day. All through the day, I never had to worry about touching-up - the vial was definitely worth it.
Cindy is a hairstylist for RTM. I still can’t believe how she managed to make my hair look the way it did.
After testing them out for the pre-wedding photography, I was pretty much convinced I had to have these two ladies for my special day.
