My Golf Contenders

Published by bbear at 6:11 pm under golf

Mummy saw this article in today’s papers about Malaysia’s golf prodigy.  She read that Galven Green is the youngest golfer to complete 18 holes in the Malaysian Book of records.  He was only four years and nine months when he did this.  He also has an older brother called Gavin (just like me!) who is also very good at golf.

Mummy also read that Galven’s coach is Tony Maloney and that Galven trains every day for two hours!  I hope when I’m older I’ll be as good, if not better, than Galven and his brother.  Mummy told me that while talent is good, heart is more important.  She told me a story about a basketball player called Michael Jordon.  She said that he was the best basketball player of his time because he had heart.  When he was still in school, the basketball team didn’t want him and he went on to become a world famous basketball player.

Mummy told me that even if I’m not as talented at golf as Galven and his brother, it is okay.  As long as I have fun playing golf and I work hard at it, I can still become better than them.
