Penang, June 2003

Published by figur8 at 4:44 pm under Jesselton, Malaysia, Penang, Photos, Rockrats, bouldering, rock climbing

Shortly after our first taste of Penang, the Rockrats made a second visit back to Jesselton some three months later. We didn’t take too many photos this time around and it seems quite evident that the ulterior motive for the trip was probably more to eat than to climb…

There’s an interesting Indian shop somewhere along Gurney Drive that serves a nice treat called “Roti Pisang Ice Cream”. It came highly recommended by my brother so we had to go check it out.

We also discovered another interesting bouldering wall outside the Salsa Club. The brickwork makes for some pretty interesting crimps and we all took turns to traverse the wall. We also tried another wall inside one of the hotels but after a few of the bricks crumbled, we decided it was time to high-tail out of there.
