A Blog in Review

When it comes to indoor lighting, I prefer to keep the designs simple and modern.  For instance, in the family and living areas, I would use overhead lighting like this:

It’s simple, it’s modern and it offers good lighting.  I generally prefer fluorescent lights - or white lights - because I think they offer better lighting.  My Dad, on the other hand, has always thought yellow lights are softer on the eyes.  Although I agree, I still think it’s easier to read with white lights.

As far as wall lights go, I would opt not to stray too far from a design like this:

Or even this (which is perhaps a little reminiscent of the “exit” signs in a cinema):

For the formal areas for guests, I would still keep it simple with clean designs, like this:

and this:

Call me boring but I tend to prefer function and simplicity to ornate and garish.
