Here is what we did this week:
We went to the Butterfly Park and saw butterflies, bugs, insects, turtles and fish.

We painted with water colours for the first time:

We made a dragon:

We visited the Bird Park and saw Peafowl, Hornbills, Flamingos, Eagles, Emus, Ostriches, Love Birds, Parakeets and other birds:

We went to Playland in Kizsports.

We practiced writing our numbers:

We rearranged our shelves to become more “Montessori-friendly”:

And discovered that these are some of Gavin’s favourite activities:
1. Creating pictorial stories with his Thomas and Friends felt puzzle.

2. Playing with his Thomas and Friends Domino cards. He finally understands the rules of the game and can play properly now.

3. He also enjoys playing with his Thomas and Friends jigsaw puzzles.

Gavin’s also pretty good at tidying up after himself (well, most times). The only toy he doesn’t like packing up is the Thomas and Friends Felt Puzzle.

He also enjoys “reading” his Thomas and Friends books. Actually what he does is retell the story in his own words based on what he remembers me reading and from the pictures in the story.

We bought these books from MPH when they were having a special of “buy two get one free”. They are normally RM15.90 a book.
Oh yes, we also fed the fish – sorry, no photos. Following the Montessori program, I’ve given Gavin the “responsibility”of feeding the Koi fish in my FIL’s pond as a daily chore. It’s part of his learning experience handling animals, learning about nature and having responsibilities.
