Art Class: Painting with Crayola Finger Paints

While I was shopping at Isetan in KLCC, I came across the Crayola finger paints in the stationery section. On a whim, I decided to get some for Gavin. They cost me RM20 (or thereabouts) for 4 large tubes of paint – much cheaper than the Pelikan ones. I like the tubes because you can easily dispense them onto a palette with minimal mess – definitely a real plus over the Pelikan finger paints.
The paint appearance and texture looks a little like jam.
Being more viscous, it takes longer to dry and affords your child more “mess” time with less paint because you can continue to run your fingers over the paint without having to add more paint. The Pelikan paints tend to dry up and then you have to add more paint.
However, unlike the Pelikan paints, you don’t get any other accessories with Crayola. You’ll need to get your own art smock and sponges. Other than that, I’d give the Crayola paints a huge thumbs up.
