More Thomas & Friends Audio for Thomas Fans!

Some time back, I wrote that I was looking for Thomas and Friends music CDs to entertain Gavin during our car rides but wasn’t able to find anything that I could purchase outside of the US.  Recently, I discovered that iTunes also sells Thomas and Friends music and audiobooks, but again, it is available only to US residents.  They redirected me to the iTunes store specific to my country but unfortunately it doesn’t sell any Thomas and Friends music or audiobooks.  Why? Why? WHY???

I’m finding this increasingly annoying.  I don’t understand why I can’t buy these online.  I’m not shipping anything – it’s just a simple and straightforward download.  I can buy Thomas and Friends audiobooks, so why not these music tracks?  What’s the difference?  Can anyone tell me?  iTunes? Rhapsody?

Anyway, I discovered from iTunes that there are two Thomas and Friends music CDs:

I did more googling and found that Amazon sells both the CD and the MP3 downloads for the Thomas’ Train Yard Tracks and Thomas’ Songs & Roundhouse Rhythms albums, however, I don’t seem to be able to buy the MP3 download from them either – dang!  However, after a speedy delivery from Amazon, I feel almost willing to risk making a CD purchase…

While I was googling for Thomas and Friends music, I also discovered another site selling more Thomas and Friends audiobooks.  They have Volume 1, 2, and 3 from The Railway Stories, and The Great Discovery.

Thomas Vol 1 Thomas Vol 2

Thomas Vol 3 Thomas Great Discovery

The Railway Stories are $10.23 each (cheaper than what I paid – $13), however, V-Chip is now selling Volume 1 for $5.99.  The Great Discovery is only $5.99 for an hour’s worth of peace in the car, (definitely worth it in my opinion).

Now here’s the funny thing…  I tried buying The Railway Stories Volume 2 and 3 and the Great Discovery but they would only allow me to buy The Great Discovery.  I received a message that said that the Railway Stories are not available for download from my location.  How strange that I can buy The Great Discovery but I cannot purchase The Railway Stories…  Anyway, I went ahead and bought The Great Discovery and did a bit more searching online.  I found out that Audible.com has a UK site which also sells The Railway stories – all three volumes – for £6.49 each (at the time of writing this post).  This is where it gets really interesting – Audible.co.uk allows me to purchase The Railway Stories!

The things we have to do when we live in the lesser known parts of the world…
