We didn’t really do much for Father’s Day on Sunday - my FIL wanted a quiet day and hubby isn’t really big on celebrations. My SIL made a Black Forest Cake, which was simply delicious! Yes, it was a REAL Black Forest Cake with cherry liquor (we didn’t have kirsh) and real cherries - not one of those pretend cakes with jelly instead of cherries and a distinct lack of alcohol.
I was supposed to take photos of dinner but I forgot, so here are the photos of the cake…

Nah, it’s okay. It was the Royal Selangor Club. If they do read this then I hope they have to sense to act upon it and change their chef or change the way they cook.
They have this policy where you have to pay a certain amount every month regardless of whether you eat there or you don’t. If you eat there and you spend that minimum amount, you don’t have to pay. So effectively it forces us to eat there once a month or forfeit the money for no reason.
Now, it would be fine if the food was good. Unfortunately, the quality has been suffering for some time now. I sort of suspect that they started enforcing this minimum payment rule because no one was eating at the club (no surprise since the food quality has degraded so much).
So, there you go… that’s the full story about dinner.
wahh…this is how they do business this days..
