Baby Sign Language

Hello! I see you're new here. Welcome to Babylicious! You might like to subscribe to my RSS feed to get regular updates on what's new at Babylicious. Thanks for visiting!
I read about Baby Sign Language from a friend’s blog and was inspired to look into it after reading this mother’s testimony. Baby Sign Language helps babies and toddlers articulate their needs before they are able to talk and is said to reduce tantrums and frustrations.
If you ever watched “Meet the Fockers”, you might recall that the little boy in the movie was taught sign language and he could sign for things that he wanted. I never thought much about it at the time (probably because I was a long shot from being a mother back then) but now I think it would be great if I could communicate with Gavin that way. Sometimes when he cries, I still feel like I’m guessing what he wants and all I can do is try to pacify him while I use trial and error to figure out what he wants.
Signing Time came highly recommended as an educational resource for teaching your baby to sign. You can read more about their story here. The mother that founded Signing Time is an inspirational woman who won an award for being one of the best small companies run by entrepreneurial Moms.
I’d really like to get the full DVD set but even at their web special price of $254.96, it’s still a little too pricey for me. I think I might just start with Baby Signing Time Set first and see how we go from there.
Now I know why they say it costs a million dollars to raise a child these days – with all the parenting books, baby products and, not to mention, the range of toys available these days, it is no wonder that parents are spending so much! Every time I wander into Toys ‘R’ Us, I feel like a kid who missed out on her childhood. I don’t remember there being such a large collection of toys available when I was a kid.

It was an overnight trip. I was gone for about 36 hours.
Originally, it was a 4 day trip which I planned during the pregnancy. After Gavin was born, I found myself unable to stay away from him for too long so I cut short my trip.

Thanks for sharing. It’s a little unfortunate that they aren’t in Malaysia. I see lots of studios in Singapore, though…
Maybe we should think about starting up one here…

Oh, I think Kindermusik needs to update their website then. The sites you mentioned are not listed.
Thanks for the links, I will look into them!
