Johnson’s and Harper Collins Publishers are running a competition to celebrate the 60th anniversary of “Goodnight Moon” bedtime classics. To enter, submit your story to Bedtime Classics.

Here’s the incentive to write your own story:

The grand prize is a $1000 gift card, a library of classic children’s books from HarperCollins (this is why I’m entering the competition), and a Johnson’s baby gift set. Aside from this, your story will also be printed and illustrated by HarperCollins.

Ten other prize winners will receive a $250 gift card plus the same library and gift set as the grand prize winner.

Your story has to be appropriate for a picture book and 1500 words or less. Content of your story should be suitable for children ages zero to four and you can only submit one entry. The competition closes July 15, 2007.

Oops, I just discovered that it’s only open to US residents. What a bummer…
