My obstetrician gave the lecture on “the process of labour” for part one of our final prenatal class so I took the advantage of sneaking a free consultation with him about my groin pain. I’m supposed to see him later today for my regular monthly check-up but since the opportunity presented itself, I decided why the heck not?
After describing my symptoms to Dr Wong, he feels that it is very likely due to my pelvic floor muscles being strained. Perhaps I have overexerted myself. The good doctor’s advice was for me to take it easy for the next couple of days. That meant no yoga class for me today. What a shame. I think I was even looking forward to it…
The other possibility is a urine infection but I think it highly unlikely because I don’t seem to be presenting with the usual symptoms of infection. Of course we’ll confirm that soon enough when I get my next urine test later today.
Back to the part of overexertion… Honestly, I can’t imagine how I might have over-strained myself just by taking a leisurely walk around the park outside my house. I would have thought my exercise classes at fitfor2 would have been more strenuous. The only thing that concurs with what Dr Wong said was the fact that my pubic pain seems to have progressively gotten worse over the last couple of days when I was walking in the morning and it appears to be slightly better since I started skipping the morning walks.
I guess we’ll see how it goes after a weekend of R&R…
