Cravings for Meat vs Vegetarianism

Welcome back to Babylicious! Thanks for visiting again. If you've enjoyed reading my blog, subscribe to my RSS feed to get regular updates on what's new at Babylicious.

Before the pregnancy, I was a vegetarian (the lacto-ovo kind). When I hit the first trimester, I went into meat-craving overdrive, especially for beef. I figured that it was just my body’s call for more iron, so I heeded the body’s advice and started eating meat again.

Now that I’m in my fourth month, I seem to have a slight aversion towards meat again and I wonder if it is the vegetarian part of me expressing itself or the pregnant part that simply exhausted the meat-eating craze? I’m still eating meat on a daily basis, but I don’t yearn for it the way I did in the early days of the pregnancy.

Haha… so perhaps there is a nutritional requirement behind all the meat cravings after all and not just a vegetarian’s excuse to consume meat on the sly ;op
